RATNĀ

The bejeweled smartwatch.

Jewels and craft from India. Engineering with Swiss craftsmen. An operating system of its own, moulding itself to three treasured forms.

Scroll — the stones are set act by act

01 — SOURCE

Stones from India

Every stone in the ring begins in India, cut and graded where Ratnā's craftsmen work. The watch on the plinth is still a shadow, but the ring around its bezel is real intent: twenty-four stones, sourced in Jaipur, waiting for light.

Watch the piece as you scroll, and switch forms with the tabs above the stage. A sweep of light travels each form in its own way, pavé row by row, along the skeleton bridges, or around the octagon, and the first stones begin to glint, one by one.

02 — SET

Set by two crafts

The setting is Indian craftsmanship; the engineering is pursued in partnership with Swiss craftsmen, with the ambition of engineering the pieces in India as well. Two traditions, one case.

As the sweep completes its circuit, more of the ring takes light, stone after stone, until the bezel reads as a set piece rather than a silhouette.

The dial wakes

Under the dark dial sits a hidden display: jewels and a dark face when it rests, light when it is touched. In this final act the full ring is lit and Ratnā OS, a proprietary operating system of its own, wakes through the dial with the time and a quiet reading or two. Nothing shouts. It glows.

Ratnā OS moulds itself to the form. The data never changes. The expression is the watch's own. Suma lays the same reading out in grid order, its power as a bottom row of stones. Drava carries it on its gears, the time calm on an undistorted centre plate, power wound into a mainspring barrel. Ashta fixes its eight bezel points as app positions and gives health, steps and reserve to three subdials, the reserve drawn as a power-reserve complication.
